Cardinals Juniors are Cup Champions!

They have done it in their very first season! The Kuils River Cardinals' first junior team have won their first trophy in their maiden season.

The team faced a challenging first half of the 2019/2020 season competing against the likes of Bellville Tygers and Bothasig Knights. It was a huge learning curve as these boys and girls had never played a day of baseball in their lives but they learned quickly and put on impressive performances even when the wins weren't coming. The team & fans showed great spirit and ended the first half of the season with only one win in 7 games but they weren't going to let that get them down.

In the second half of the season the team absolutely dominated the Cup division and registered win after win after win. Their fiercest competition came from Ocean View Saints who were unbeaten until the two teams faced off mid-season and Cardinals came out tops after a close game (OVS 18-20 KRC).

The Cardinals Juniors went on a winning streak of 8 games to take the trophy with one game in hand. What an amazing performance by these youngsters! Credit must go to the parents & families that have supported these talented kids at every practice, game and tournament. Also to the Kuils River Cardinals baseball club for their constant guidance and support.

The Kuils River Cardinals have their own baseball home grounds at Jagtershof Sports Grounds!

This was one of the goals set out by the founding members and with hard work and the support of the City of Cape Town this goal has been achieved in only the second season. The backstop is up and the clay has been laid down - it's time to play ball! We have also received great support from the wider baseball community in the form of equipment donations and are extremely grateful to Angels At Bat and Play Sport 4 Life (PS4L) who have assisted us in growing the game of baseball in Kuils River, Cape Town.
