The Dugout

The Kuils River Cardinals started out with only a Masters side when the club was established in 2018. This tight knit group of friends are the one's who had the vision of Baseball in Kuils River and started the club from the bottom up. The masters team is going strong and eligibility for this team starts from age 28 and there's no age limit.

These guys are all about having fun and enjoying the game together. They often enjoy a braai and drinks after a game but don't be fooled - these guys still have a competitive spirit and the skills to back it up. The team had a respectable 2019/2020 season registering 7 wins in 15 games and finishing mid table. They also bagged some silverware in the masters cup competition.

The 2019/2020 season saw Kuils River Cardinals registering their first senior side. This brought the tally of club teams up to 3 sides which shows an upward curve in the growth & development of the club from it's first year in 2018.

The diverse side consisted of a mixture or new and experienced players with ages spanning from 16 - 33 years. Being their first year in competition, the team started in the 3rd league and competed with the likes of Lavender Hill, Yankees, Knights, Pirates and Milnerton Mavericks. It was tough going for the first half of the season with many players learning the game and the team being altered due to new players being introduced. But the team found their feet in the second half of the season and started putting on improved performances with them closely missing out on a few victories over tough opposition.

The team finished the season with 3 wins and one draw and will use the experience as a foundation for the next season. If you reside close to the greater Kuils River area and would like to give baseball a go, then please contact us via our More Info page or visit our FaceBook page to get intouch.
